OSLOB & SUMILON – CEBU
GoDeep tour to Oslob and Sumilon starts early morning from Alona beach.
Our boat will first head to Oslob, for whale sharks watching on a trip that will take us around 1 hour. Watching of whale sharks in Oslob, Cebu is 99% guaranteed. Whale sharks can be seen in a small barangay Tan-awan, which is 10 km away from the center town of Oslob. Whale shark watching in Cebu started in September 2011 and it became popular all over the world since then. We will be able not just to see the whale sharks but also to snorkel or dive with these beautiful creatures.
After such an incredible experience we will need some rest and recover energy over lunch on the boat. 😉
We will then head to Sumilon island, located half hour south from Oslob. The island has an area of 24 hectares and has clear waters with varying aquamarine hues and white sand beaches in different areas of the island. It is the first marine protected area in the Philippines and was created as a marine sanctuary in 1974. We will not fail to see its sandbar because of its changing shapes and shifting locations around the island depending on the season.
Finally, after walking throughout the island, we will head back to our departure point in Alona Beach.
